Vice President: Qing Fengling

Qing  Fengling, born in March 1964 in Xinshao of Hunan Province, is a  professor and Doctor of Science, and serves as Vice President of Donghua  University (DHU).

 

In  December 1990, Qing received his Doctor of Science from Shanghai  Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and was an  assistant researcher of Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry from  January 1991 to March 1992. From November 1992 to April 1995, he carried  out his post-doctoral study in Wyeth Research (Pearl River, New York,  the US. In April 1992, he was given an accelerated promotion to  associate researcher, and remained in this position in Shanghai  Institute of Organic Chemistry from May 1992 to December 1996. In  January 1997, He was given another accelerated promotion to researcher.  From April 1995 to September 1999, he was Deputy Director of Element  Organic Research Office of Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry. From  October 1999 to January 2009, he was Director of Key Laboratory of  Organic Fluorine Chemistry of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Since  September 2000, Qing has been a professor of DHU. Since September  2004, he has successively served as Director of Institute of Biological  Science and Technology of DHU, Dean of College of Chemistry, Chemical  Engineering and Bioengineering of DHU, Assistant President of DHU, and  Director of Center for Civil Aviation Composites of DHU. In January  2016, he was appointed as Vice President of DHU.

 

In 2003, he  was awarded National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. In  2004, he was elected into Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leader Program.  In 2005, he was elected into Shanghai Leading Talents Program and as  Leader of the Innovation Team of the Ministry of Education. In 2014, he  was elected as Academic Leader of the Innovation Research Group of NSFC.

 

Qing is mainly engaged in the research of organic fluorine chemistry  and organic fluorine materials. Since 1995 when he started his  independent scientific research, he has published more than 220 research  papers. In March 2007, he published the first book of Organic Fluorine Chemistry in  China with Science Press. He has made more than 40 invited talks at  international conferences on fluorine chemistry and organic fluorine  materials, and has cultivated more than 40 doctors in DHU and Shanghai  Institute of Organic Chemistry.


Since  2000, Qing has been appointed as Editorial Board Member of  Journal of Fluorine Chemistry, Member of National Fluorine Chemistry  Executive Committee, and Judge of International Moissan Fluorine  Chemistry Award. He won Bayer Young Scientist Award of Chinese Academy  of Sciences in 2007, Huang Weiyuan Fluorine Chemistry Award of  Chinese Chemical Society in 2014, the first prize of Shanghai Natural Science Award in 2017, and the second prize of National Natural Science Award in 2019.
