YU Jianyong
Yu Jianyong is an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, professor, and doctoral tutor. He successively serves as Dean of College of Textiles of DHU, Executive Vice President of Modern Textile Research Institute of DHU, Executive Vice President of DHU Research Institute, Director of Scientific Research Office of DHU, Standing Committee Member of the DHU Party Committee and Vice President of DHU, Director of Innovation Center for Textile Science and Technology of DHU, Standing Committee Member of the DHU Party Committee and President of DHU and Deputy Secretary of the DHU Party Committee .
Academic Achievements: Yu has long committed himself to the scientific research and teaching in textile materials. He has carried out research on basic theories, key technologies and applications in the development of natural fiber resources, production and applications of chemical fibers, innovated structural yarns, textile composite materials and textile functional materials, etc. and has achieved a series of innovative achievements. He has won 2 second prizes of State Technological Invention Award and 2 second prizes of State Scientific and Technological Progress Award; co-authored 5 books; published more than 400 papers; been granted with more than 100 national invention patents; instructed more than 100 graduate students.
Honors and Awards: Receive “the First China Textile Academic Award” by China Textile Engineering Society in 2011; Be honored as the Outstanding contributor to the textile industry in the past 40 years since China’s reform and opening-up.
Major Academic and Professional Affiliations: Deputy Director of the National Expert Advisory Committee on New Materials Industry Development, Chairman of the Chinese Society for Composite Materials, and Chairman of Shanghai Society for Composite Materials.
