The program has endeavored in cultivating high-level international professionals with interdisciplinary capability in textile science and engineering and relevant fields of processing technology. Through classroom-based study, students could grasp the basic theories and professional knowledge, expanding their scope of knowledge and systematically improving their skills in the field of textile. Meanwhile, combined with various teaching methods such as thematic discussion and thesis research, we aim to develop students’ abilities of practical problem solving in textile processing, fashion design and related business administration.

2. Material Procession Engineering

The program has endeavored in cultivating high-level international talents with comprehensive capability in material science and engineering and relevant fields of processing technology. Through classroom-based study, students could grasp the basic theories and professional knowledge, expanding their scope of knowledge and systematically improving their skills in the field of fiber materials. Meanwhile, combined with various teaching methods such as thematic discussion and thesis research, we aim to develop students’ abilities of practical problem solving in forming and processing of fiber materials. From this program, students could master knowledge of fiber materials and engineering solidly and systematically, and have a good analytical capability in the forming, processing, characterizing, and subsequent processing of fiber materials.

3. Environmental Engineering

The English-taught Master of Engineering (M.E.) program in Environmental Engineering recruits worldwide those from the fields of environmental engineering, environmental science, chemistry, chemical engineering, biological science and engineering. After two and a half years’ study and research, graduates are expected to master basic theories and systematical professional knowledge of environmental engineering (pollution control in water, air and solid waste), strategic thoughts of sustainable development, environmental management and planning, cleaner production, waste resource recovery, urban ecology etc., understand the current situation and development tendency of this field, develop the abilities of solving practical problems professionally, undertaking innovatively the research or management work on environmental pollution control, waste resource recovery and cleaner production, as well as further scientific research abilities and skills.

4. Chemical Engineering & Technology

The mission of this Program is to provide the next generation of chemical engineers with an excellent and innovative chemical engineering education. The program has a focus on applied research and in recent years, the faculty have taken charge of over 100 research projects funded by the national and provincial ministries, which resulted in over 300 journal publications, almost 200 patent applications, and numerous awards for the advancement of science and technology. The program has acquired an inventory of state-of-the-art research equipment and instrumentation including a Bruker Avance 400 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometer, a gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (GC/MS), an electrospray liquid chromatography/mass spectrometers (LC/MS), high performance liquid chromatographs (HPLC), gas chromatographs (GC), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrometers, spectro-fluorimeters, UV/Vis spectrophotometers, rheometers, minimum temperature film forming bars and more.

The research orientations include Fine Chemical Engineering, Fermentation Engineering and Textile Biotechnology, Textile Chemical Engineering, and Functional Polymers and Nanotechnology. Graduates from the program may choose to be engaged in scientific research, pursue a career in research and development, production management and technical support.
