Non-Chinese citizen in good health; between 16 and 60 years’ old, and have a valid ordinary foreign passport. Applicant in China should have a valid visa.


How to apply






Register a personal account at, fill in “personal information”, upload your ID photo and passport page, and fill in the “academic information”to choose the program you plan to learn.




After the online application is reviewed by ICES, an email will be sent to the applicant to confirm the application progress and the application fee.


Application Fee


lPay online  (recommended): log in your personal account at, clickacademic info    application   progress payment information online   payment. Visa card, MasterCard and UnionPay card enabled online payment service are available.

lPay at ICES office: with RMB cash or UnionPay card.



ICES will make the review after all the information & materials are completed and the application fee is paid, then will send the admission package to the admitted applicant within 15   working days.

lThose who apply and be admitted before the application deadline of phase one will receive both JW202 form (Visa Application for Study in China) and Admission Notice.

lThose who apply and be admitted before the application deadline of phase two will receive only the Admission Notice.

*Students who cannot be reached due to invalid, incorrect or unclear contact information provided shall bear the responsibilities themselves.


Tuition payment

You are suggested to pay the tuition by the following ways in advance in case of the long queue on the enrollment day:

lPay online (recommended): Use your Visa card, MasterCard, or UnionPay card which has been enabled the online payment service. Log in your personal account at, clickacademic information application progress payment information online payment” and pay.

lPay at ICES office: with RMB cash or UnionPay card.


Airport pick-up service

ICES offers pick-up service for the newcomers arrive at either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 of Pudong International Airport (PVG). Volunteers will wait near the exit of International Arrival of two Terminals and send you to the coach that will set out from PVG at 10:00, 15:00 and 19:00 back to the campus. This service will be offered only on the designated days below. If missed, please get to the campus by yourself.

l2019 Spring semester: Feb.25& Feb.26

l2019 Autumn semester: Aug.31& Sept.1


l It must be the admitted student him/herself who comes for the enrollment on the day assigned on the Admission Notice. Original passport, Admission Notice and relevant fees are required to be brought.

lMain issues: geet passport and visa double-checked (those who have no valid X1, X2 or Residence Permit on the passports will be rejected to enroll or study at Donghua University), collect the  student ID card, pay tuition and other relevant fees payment, learn how to extend or renew your visa (if necessary), and take Chinese placement test.

lOther issues: collect textbooks, purchase shuttle bus card or food card for university canteens, etc.


* Each student is expected to buy insurance of which the validity should be enough to cover one’s study duration. Those who study for one semester can buy it in their own countries or at ICES; those who study for two semesters or more are required to buy it at ICES. The "Comprehensive Medical Insurance & Protection Scheme for Foreigners Staying in China ” offered by Ping An Annuity Co. Ltd. costs CNY 400/semester and needs to be paid at enrollment.
