Education Targets

The primary goal of the Master of Computer Science and Technology program is to prepare graduates to apply technology to real world systems and problems. Graduates have a solid background in core areas of computer science. They also possess in-depth knowledge and skills in one of the following concentrations: Database and Data Warehouse, Computer Networking and Security, Information Systems, Computer Graphics and Image Processing, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition. The program objectives of the master's degree in Computer Science and Technology are:
1. To prepare graduates for the increasingly sophisticated application of computers to the needs of industry and society;
2. To prepare graduates for research, teaching, and further graduate studies in computer science;
3. To prepare graduates for leadership roles in their industry career.
4. To provide graduates with graduate level course work in computer science that supplements the curriculum in other disciplines.

 
Specialized Knowledge And Ability

Graduates from the Master of Computer Science and technology program will be able to:

 1. Have a sufficient theoretical background in Computer Science and Technology and be able to publish original papers in conferences or journals.
2. Select appropriate numerical computation techniques, operating systems, and programming language for specific development requirements and constraints.
3. Design, implement, test, and document large programming projects.
4. Apply networking and database development concepts in programming solutions.
5. Identify appropriate software engineering principles and methods for different development projects.
6. Integrate concepts, tools, and theories to find and formulate problems, think analytically, and recommend technology-based solutions to the problems.
7. Have good teamwork skills.
8. Possess good communication/presentation skills.
