Insurance

In accordance with the regulations from the Ministry of Education of China, and to better protect international students study in China, international students are required to purchase insurance, of which the validity should be enough to cover one's study duration.

Students enrolled in degree programs, gereral/advanced studies, or exchange programs MUST purchase 'Comprehensive Insurance & Protection Scheme for Foreigners Staying in China' offered by Ping An Annuity Insurance Company, Ltd., which is CNY 400 per semester at DHU registration.

Language students who have already had any other international insurance that undertakes insurance liabilities on medical and accidental injury during their staying in China MUST provide the copies of the insurance policy or card at DHU registration. If it is not purchased yet, one can choose to buy 'Comprehensive Insurance & Protection Scheme for Foreigners Staying in China' offered by Ping An Annuity Insurance Company, Ltd., which is CNY 400 per semester at DHU registration.

How to see a doctor?

1.If you feel uncomfortable, please go to see the doctor immediately. You may consult your friends or teachers how to see a doctor in China. Please don’t hesitate or feel inconvenient but delay the best treatment time.

2.If you have purchased 'Comprehensive Insurance & Protection Scheme for Foreigners Staying in China''Comprehensive Insurance & Protection Scheme for Foreigners Staying in China'  by ICES, please go to the designated hospital (Refer to list of designated hospitals.pdf). If you have the treatment in hospital, please inform ICES by yourself or your relatives/friends within 24 hours in order to undertake the insurance procedures.

3.If you purchased other medical insurance policy by yourself (It should at least cover accidental injury medical treatment and hospitalization medical treatment), please check the insurance coverage and usage guide carefully when seeing the doctor. Please consult your insurance company for the detailed instruction and attentions of the policy applied in Shanghai, and follow the terms and conditions of the policy contract strictly.  

 

School Clinics 

University has school clinics available for students to use. Students will find that most medical issues can be solved here with services covering both internal and external medicine, including x-rays. The clinic is open on Mon. to Fri. 8:00-11:30 and 13:30-17:00 (Tuesdays only 16:00-17:00) and closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and official holidays. Students will be responsible for all fees at the University Clinic.
